Young Listeners Banner 2016

  • Appleblossom the Possum by Holly Goldberg Sloan, read by Dustin Hoffman

“In addition to an Academy Award winning actor, Listening Library added sound effects and music throughout the story. It’s is original music by Ry Cooder. Excellent addition to the story. The music brought a country, outdoor tone while the sounds effects gave it some umph and whimsy. I can hear that a lot of work went into this audiobook.”

  • Brother Hugo and the Bear by Katy Beebe, read by Gildart Jackson

“Gildart Jackson narrates this humorous medieval tale. His rendition is regal and humorous and dynamic. (How could you not be dynamic when a bear is chasing you?) The music underneath was instrumental with a classical and medieval feel. The sound effects were well placed throughout the story.”

  • Dory Fantasmagory by Abby Hanlon, read by Suzy Jackson
  • Eloise Audio Collection by Kay Thompson, read by Bernadette Peters
  • The Little Shop of Monsters by R.L. Stine, Marc Brown, read by Jack Black
  • Niño Wrestles the World by Yuyi Morales, read by Adriana Sananes

“Adriana Sananes narrates Niño’s tale. She wrestles with a mix of English words, Spanish words, and onomatopoeia words. It could be quite a tongue twister, but Sananes shares the story very well.”
