THE 2014 APA/ARMCHAIR AUDIE AWARD FINALISTS

Image
YAY! The Audie finalists have been announced! Reproduced below are many of the categories from which the Audiobook Publishers Association will pick the “Best of” respectively, and award beautiful crystal trophies to the winning publishing houses and narrators. I say that I’ve listed  “many” of the categories because I did not include the nominations for Packaging and; I added two categories for Celebrity Narration (Male and Female)! Later on, a Best Audiobook category will be announced, but NOT the APA version! A triumvirate of Armchair Audies listeners will be making their own slate of nominees. :-)
So, take a look and then go listen! PIck a category, listen to the nominations under that category, tell us what you think and make your predictions! :-)

There are some great narrators in there. I don’t know that I agree with the books chosen but I have to remember this is more about the narration.

I’d love to listen to the Teen category again. Perhaps also 8-12 but we’ll see how it goes. Happy listening!

After much deliberation, I have decided to take on the Humor category! Like categories that I have taken on in years past, this a completely new genre for me; but I’m open to being made to laugh! :-D

I’m going with my traditional Literary Fiction category. There are titles that I’ve wanted to read as well as a couple I hadn’t considered. I may pick up Fiction as well depending on how much time I have left.

I’ll do Lit Fic, Teen & By Author. I do wish some titles weren’t repeated so often (I just don’t want to listen to the creep-me-out stuff, so NOS4A2 & Dr Sleep are out for me, and N. Sparks has destroyed the romance category, darn him.)

Anyway, this looks grand & I’m excited to participate!

I’ll take romance again – my library has 2 of the audiobooks and i’ll grab the other 3

I’d love to take Children’s 8-12 again! I haven’t listened to any yet, but all were on my list anyway so this is (as always) the perfect excuse. =)
